Energy and utilities simulation
Outages, work orders and maintenance jobs compete for crews, equipment and limited time windows. Stocha is designed to test 7 decisions here, each as a ready-made model template.
What Stocha measures
- Time to restore an outage
- Crew utilization
- Open work order backlog
- Jobs finished within the window
- Wait before a crew is assigned
Decisions you can test
Packs are planned. The first wave ships with the private beta.
- Power plant outagesWhich task sequence and crew size bring the plant back online soonest after planned outages?
- Grid restoration crewsHow many crews and mutual-aid teams restore power to most customers after a major storm?
- Oil and gas supply chainHow much storage at the terminal keeps supply flowing when a pipeline section shuts down?
- Refinery turnaroundHow many contractors per shift finish the turnaround on time without crowding work areas?
- Wind farm maintenanceHow many technicians and vessels keep turbines running given seasonal weather windows for repairs?
- Water utility field opsHow many field crews keep main break repairs within your target during a cold snap?
- EV charging networkHow many chargers per site keep drivers from waiting too long on holiday travel days?
Questions about energy and utilities simulation
How many crews do I need to restore power after a storm?
Model outages arriving over the storm, travel and repair time per job, and the crews available, including any mutual-aid crews that arrive later. Run the storm many times and read the time to restore each customer group and the backlog over time. Compare crew levels and dispatch rules, such as largest outage first.
Can I use my own outage history to set up the model?
Partly today. Fitting patterns to your own data is under development. Energy and utilities templates are planned after the private beta.
