Financial services simulation
Customers, applications and transactions queue for tellers, reviewers and systems with finite capacity. Stocha is designed to test 8 decisions here, each as a ready-made model template.
See the bank branch worked example, a real engine run.
What Stocha measures
- Customer wait at the branch
- Application time to decision
- Teller and reviewer utilization
- Backlog of items in review
- Share processed within target
Decisions you can test
Packs are planned. The first wave ships with the private beta.
- Bank branch First waveHow many tellers per hour keep branch waits within your target on payday?
- Loan originationWhere do loan applications stall, and how many underwriters would clear that step?
- Insurance claimsDoes fast-tracking simple claims shorten settlement time for the complex claims left over?
- UnderwritingHow many underwriters keep quote turnaround within your target when submissions spike at renewal?
- Know-your-customer and anti-money-laundering checksHow many analysts clear alerts within your review targets if alert volumes rise after a rule change?
- Payments processingDoes the payments pipeline still settle on time if one processing node fails at peak?
- Trading operations back officeHow many operations staff clear trade breaks before end-of-day cutoff on high-volume days?
- ATM cash replenishmentWhich refill schedule and route plan keeps ATMs stocked with the fewest cash-out events?
Questions about financial services simulation
How do I set teller staffing for a bank branch?
Model customers arriving by hour, the mix of transactions and how long each takes, and the tellers and advisors on duty. Run the day many times for each rota and compare the average wait and the customers who leave a long line. Test the busiest periods, such as lunchtime, on their own.
Can a reviewer rerun a loan processing result?
Yes. With the same inputs, random seed and engine version, the engine gives the same numbers, so a reviewer gets the same result. A bank branch template is planned for the private beta; other financial services templates come later.
